Summarizing teaching practice

Positive things learned from the teaching practice and observations:
- could try out various learning methods and evaluate how everything works out
- could get a lot of feedback from colleagues as well as students
- could learn that own knowledge is actually valuable
- could easily ask for materials and help from colleagues
- could observe own working as an outsider
- could learn how to take into account the age group
- could learn from observations more than by own teaching
- could learn on how to do more effectively the planning
- could learn how to plan the so that the work load does not go overboard
- how important personal touch and individual assessment in teaching is
Negative things learned from teaching practice and observations:
- when not enough clear instructions given, creates problems for students as well to the teacher
- you need to be really present and cheerful not to depress and bore students
- how to cope with negative students
- how to cope with students who are not obeying
- negative and diminishing attitudes of older staff members
- restrictions of institutions, traditions
- you need to be in various roles
- you need to practice time management
- facilities have an impact on the learning
- systems might restrict teaching and learning
